Who we are
Purple Roots Ranch evolved from combining two creative families passionate about animals, nature, and bringing kindness to the world. Both families brought their unique interests, history, and abilities together with the desire to create and share their passions with others, but recognized that city life was not fulfilling, healthy for them, nor conducive to pursuing these goals. They made their escape from the greater Denver area, moved out to a beautiful ranch on 65 acres in the countryside, and this is where Purple Roots Ranch was born. Within a few months, the animal family has grown rapidly with donkeys, goats, and ducks with no plans of slowing down. Each animal has its purpose in supporting the ranch and the products we produce as we continue to expand our capabilities and interests with an ever-growing selection. We are in love with the beautiful nature we have been blessed with, our amazing friends and families, and the freedom we have to create quality products we are excited to use and share with others.
Harry continues his career in alternative energy as a design engineer while applying his skills in designing custom equipment, processes, and products to support the ranch. He used to be an avid brewer but learned years ago that alcohol was no friend to his goals. Instead of dumping his product, he used a mother of vinegar to convert the batches into deliciously healthy products he could be proud to share . The added challenge and creativity of the two-stage vinegar production combined with encouragement and appreciation from his friends and family motivated Harry to expand his interests into cosmetics, extractions, and more. He is an avid DIY enthusiast, curious about how everything is made, and always driven with new projects and improvement ideas. Rarely is Harry seen without his best friend Milo, his dog, as they do chores together across the ranch and break away occasionally to go backpacking and on other adventures. He feels most at home surrounded by nature and tries to bring sustainability and mindfulness into both his career and hobbies.
Kerrie works for an award-winning female owned company developing apps for helpful organizations like MyColorado, Natural Grocers, and FloCrit. As a single mother for years, her focus grew in clean, healthy, and natural products and solutions she could feel good about giving her daughter. Kerrie’s dedication and motivation resulted in the creation of her highly effective elderberry syrup which further inspired her interests in fresh natural foods, essential oils, candles, honey, and other sustainable, environmentally friendly, and healthy products. She utilizes her career and skills to bring organization, focus, and marketing to Purple Roots Ranch, and often acts as point of contact with her wonderful and supportive personality. Kerrie and Vivian are in love with every animal and spend their time caring for, spoiling, and building bonds with the ever-growing family here on the ranch. Kerrie also loves being away from the city out on the ranch where she can pursue her interests in natural healthy living.
We are thankful to be together as a family and ever grateful for the opportunities we have. Our skills and shared passions allow us to create, build, and share with the world around us. We are driven by quality, sustainable, natural products that we use and share with our family and friends. If it isn’t good enough for the people closest to us, then it isn’t good enough to share with you. We are proud of what we make, grateful for the support we get, thankful for what our animals and land provide, and hope you enjoy our products as much as we do.
